Upper King favorite pizzeria Monza will reopen as Monza Pizza Bar, as early as next week. Restaurateurs Tim Mink and Brooks Reitz (Leon’s, Melfi’s, and Little Jack’s Tavern) lead the project. The duo began by shutting down beer bar/Monza neighbor Closed for Business to be able to tear down the walls between the two restaurants, rearrange the spaces, change up the menu, redesign the dining room, and add a full bar.
According to the Monza Pizza Bar Instagram account, the changes are almost done, and the new space should be ready to go next week. It appears the bar has expanded, but the touches of orange and Italian racecars remain the same.
As far as menu changes go, Reitz says, “We are going to tweak some of the Monza classics — the butter bean salad, the chicken scallopini, the Caesar —just make sure they are the best possible versions of themselves. The pizzas will remain the same, maybe with one or two additions. But the core pies will certainly remain.”
